To continue the work he has been doing for over 30 years, our client has acquired a new mobile medical imaging unit!
The aim of this mobile breast cancer screening unit, the mammobile, is to reach out to women who don't take part in mass screening campaigns, to give them the opportunity to be screened close to home.
A mobile mammography unit for women
This medical imaging truck has a key mission: bring breast cancer screening as close as possible to the people who need it.
This mammobile, which travels throughout the Hérault department in France, is equipped with several functional areas dedicated to welcoming patients, carrying out medical examinations and ensuring the comfort of staff. Each area is designed to meet the specific needs of patients and staff and maximise efficiency.
The mobile unit includes a reception area, staff toilets, an examination room, a mammography room, two changing rooms and a break room at the rear. With two entrances (including one via a PRM tailgate directly into the mammography room), the mobile unit is perfectly designed to ensure smooth traffic flow and a positive patient experience during their visit.
Air renewal and reversible air-conditioning systems ensure optimum comfort all year round, allowing everyone present to work and to be screened in the best possible conditions.
The mobile mammography unit: focus on the fully equipped and functional examination room
The examination room is equipped with a reprograph, an examination chair, an ultrasound scanner and a washbasin with a hand towel and soap dispenser. Every detail is thought out to guarantee an optimal medical experience. A wheeled stool is available for the healthcare professional to facilitate medical procedures. This room can be accessed from two different entrances, either from the main corridor or from the corridor accessible after the changing rooms.
The mobile mammography unit: focus on the secure mammography room
The mammography room is the centre of the mobile unit. For the safety of patients and doctors, the room is designed with walls incorporating lead to block radiation to the outside. A special access for people with reduced mobility provides direct entry to the mammography room, ensuring that screening is inclusive and accessible to all.
The mobile mammography unit: focus on the break room
The well-being of staff is also taken into account. Opening directly onto the mammography room via a sliding door, the break room is equipped with a fixed table with a bench and two folding chairs. A work surface with sink, fridge, microwave and various storage units allows staff to rest and store their personal and professional equipment. This room provides a pleasant working environment for health care staff, who can come and rest between consultations or during their lunch break.
