In a spirit of sharing and accessibility, a new mobile cinema was launched mid-May 2025: the CinéMo.
Combining the missions of Fondation Art Explora and CANAL+ to promote cultural democratisation, this colourful and cheerful cultural truck travels the roads of France to bring free access to cinema to all those who are unable to enjoy it for geographical or social reasons.
A mobile cinema designed and built like a real traditional cinema
Thought up by designers Camille Chardayre and Jean-François Aimé as a mobile cinema, the CinéMo was carefully designed and built by our teams to meet all our client's requirements.
Fitted out in a semi-trailer, the mobile cinema required extensive mechanical welding work to integrate two large hydraulic extensions, which can be deployed using a radio control and are supported by four stabilising legs.
The CinéMo also includes various spaces necessary for running this huge structure:
- An entrance hall serving as a reception area and allowing spectators to access the cinema auditorium
- A multifunction projection cabin including both :
- All technical aspects of film projection: main electrical panel, audio-video equipment...
- Storage cupboards and a folding table
- A counter with supports for the cash register, payment terminal, printer...
- A cinema room worthy of the most sophisticated, equipped with:
- 72 SIGNATURE F seats with velvet upholstery and embroidery
- A super MAT screen
- Projection quality achieved using cinema equipment identical to that found in cinemas
- 7.1 sound system
- Two staircases with a set of handrails to secure access to each of the two access doors, as well as disabled access via a lift tailgate for people with reduced mobility
- A rotating illuminated sign at the front of the semi-trailer, raised by a pneumatic telescopic mast
Inaugurated during the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, this mobile cinema is part of a broader initiative to reach out to audiences, as it operates alongside the other cultural trucks run by the Art Explora Foundation: the Mumo mobile museums of the Centre Pompidou and FRAC.
To awaken a passion for the big screen in as many people as possible, CinéMo promises to bring cinema closer to French people, particularly those living in areas furthest from cinemas, such as the city's political districts and rural areas.
