The City of Noisy-le-Grand has introduced a new mobile library to improve access to reading, culture and digital services across all of its neighbourhoods.
The vehicle was officially inaugurated on 15 July during the Noisy Plage event, in the presence of Vincent Monnier, Mayor of Noisy-le-Grand, representatives of the Île-de-France Region, Ludovic Toro, Vice-President of the Greater Paris Metropolis, Julien Royer, Vehicle Project Manager at UGAP, as well as teams from the Georges-Wolinski Media Library, Renault Trucks and Toutenkamion.
A mobile library serving access to culture
This new mobile library replaces an older vehicle, providing a more modern, comfortable and environmentally friendly service.
Offering 28sq of interior space, it supports the City of Noisy-le-Grand's commitment to improving access to reading, culture and digital resources.
Complementing the Georges-Wolinski Media Library, it serves neighbourhoods throughout the city. Already in operation since the beginning of the year, it will expand its route to 13 stops, compared with 8 previously, from the start of the new school year.
With a collection of nearly 5,000 items, along with board games, video games and digital activities, it provides residents with a genuine mobile library experience.
A custom-built vehicle designed for users
Designed to offer the same services as a traditional library, this custom-built vehicle combines comfort, accessibility and functionality:
- 2 side extensions providing 28sq of interior space
- 2 reception desks for library staff
- Custom-designed furniture with shelving, display units and storage areas
- Wheelchair access via a tail lift
- Automatic doors ensuring easy and convenient access
- Air conditioning for optimum comfort throughout the year
Innovation and energy efficiency
Fully electric and self-sufficient, the vehicle's onboard equipment is powered directly by the truck's battery, combining innovation, mobility and environmental responsibility.

With this new mobile library, Toutenkamion once again demonstrates its expertise in designing and manufacturing mobile libraries, media libraries, music libraries and, more broadly, tailor-made mobile solutions dedicated to culture.
